Job Views (Settings)

This article explains how to configure Job Views.

Job Views determine which fields are visible to users when viewing the Job Details screen.

For information about viewing / modifying Jobs, and selecting and assigning Job Views, please refer to the following Support Centre articles:

Default View

There is a default Job view which cannot be edited and is not displayed in the Job View settings. The default view displays all Job fields.

Standard Views

In addition to the default view, every CommTrak installation is preconfigured with two example Job Views:

  • Service Manager
  • Technical

Each of these views can be customised (or deleted), and additional views can be created as required.

Accessing Job Views Settings

Settings > Jobs Settings > Job Views

Creating a Job View

  • Press New Job at the top of the settings screen
  • Enter a name for the new view in the Add new job view field
  • Press Add to create the view, or press Cancel if the view is not required

A newly-created view displays all Job fields.

When a Job View is first created, the Modify a job view section is displayed, so the new view can be modified...

Modifying a Job View

If a view has not been selected, select one from the list displayed at the top of the settings screen.

The Modify a job view section is displayed

Job View Name

The name of the Job View can be edited in this field.

Selecting Job View Fields

Three columns are displayed for customising a Job View:

  • Left Column Fields - fields displayed on the left side of the Job Details screen
  • Right Column Fields - fields displayed on the right side of the Job Details screen
  • Hidden Fields - fields not displayed on the Job Details screen

Drag and drop a field into the required column.

The display order of fields can be specified by dragging a field name up or down the column list.

Press Save to confirm any changes.

Reset a View

Pressing the Reset button resets the view immediately such that all fields are displayed in their default position (i.e. the view is returned to the state of the Default view).

Resetting a view is immediate and irreversible.

Deleting a View

Pressing the Delete button removes the view immediately.

Deleting a view is immediate and irreversible.
