Accessing Data Template Settings

Settings > Data Sheet & CT-Sign Settings > Data Templates

Add a Data Template

There are two options available in the Add new data template or clone existing template section:

  • - create a new Data Sheet Template
  • - create a new Data Sheet Template by cloning an existing template

Create a New Data Template

To create a new Data Sheet Template, click  .

The following fields are presented:

Template Name (mandatory)

Enter a name for the new Data Sheet Template.

Association (mandatory)

This field provides the option to limit access to the Data Sheet Template to a specific module, or to make the template available in all modules.

The following options are available:

  • All
  • CallBacks
  • Customers
  • Jobs
  • Leads
  • Telesales
  • Tickets
Template Items (mandatory)

This section of the Data Sheet Template editor is used to add or edit the fields that will appear in the Data Sheet.

A minimum of one Template Item must be added prior to saving the new Data Sheet Template.

Add a new line item

Click to add a new template line Item.

Upload/Replace Template

To upload a template file for the Data Sheet Template, do one of the following:

  • Click and select the required template file using the file browser window
  • Drag and drop the required template file onto the button

A template file can be either a single HTML file, or a Template Toolkit file.

Action Buttons

 - Saves the newly-created Data Sheet Template.

 - cancels any changes, and returns to the Data Template settings screen (the Data Sheet Template will not be created).

Clone an Existing Data Template

To create a duplicate of an existing Data Sheet Template and, optionally modify it, click .

The following fields are presented:

Template Name (mandatory)

Enter a name for the new Data Sheet Template.

Based on Template (mandatory)

Select an existing Data Sheet Template from the drop-down list.

Copy Template File (mandatory)

Two options are available:

  • Yes (default) - If the Data Sheet Template to be cloned has a template file associated with it, a copy of the file will be made, and will be associated with the new Data Sheet Template.
  • No - If a template file is associated with the source Data Sheet Template, the file will not be copied to the new Data Sheet Template.

Modify a Data Template

To modify a Data Sheet Template, select a Data Sheet Template name from the list in the Select data template to modify section of the Data Template Settings screen. The Modify data template screen will be displayed.

The Modify data template screen is also displayed immediately after cloning an existing template.

Edit the fields as required; please refer to the section Create a New Data Template for details of the available fields.

In addition to the fields noted in the Create a New Data Template section of this article, the following fields are presented (or appear with additional options):

Upload/Replace Template

If a template file has previously been uploaded to the Data Sheet Template, it can be either be replaced, by choosing a new file, or deleted by clicking .

Download Template

If a template file has previously been uploaded to the Data Sheet Template, it can be downloaded, by clicking  . The file will be downloaded to the web browser's default download folder.

Action Buttons

 - saves any changes made to the Data Sheet Template.

 - cancels any changes, and returns to the Data Template settings screen (the Data Sheet Template will not be changed).

 - permanently deletes the Data Template.

Deleting a Data Sheet status cannot be reversed.

Modifying an existing Data Template will only affect Data Sheets that are created after the modification has occurred. Existing Data Sheets will not be affected.

Delete a Data Template

  • Select a Data Sheet Template from the list displayed at the top of the settings screen
  • Click

Deleting a Data Sheet status cannot be reversed.
