Search and Add in Place

Certain dropdown fields in CommTrak support enhanced “Search and Add in Place” functionality. These fields allow you to:

  • Scroll to locate an item
  • Type to search for an item
  • Click plus icon to add a new item

Dropdown fields that support this feature can be identified by the plus (+) icon displayed next to the field name.

Examples include:

  • Business Type
  • Customer Group

Both of the above fields are located in the Customer Screen.

Scroll to locate an Item

  1. Click the dropdown field.
  2. Scroll through the list using your mouse.
  3. Click an item to select it.

Type to Search for an Item

  1. Click the dropdown field.
  2. Begin typing the name of the item you require.

As you type, the list automatically filters to display matching results.

Select an item using the mouse, or use the arrow keys and press Enter to confirm.

Add a New Item Using the Plus Icon

  • Click the plus (+) icon next to the field name.
  • Enter the name of the new item in the dialog box.
  • Click Add.

The new item is created immediately and automatically selected in the field.

Because the record has been updated, you must click Save to retain the change.
