Mandatory Field Highlighting

Incomplete or invalid mandatory fields prevent the user from adding / saving data on the current screen until all the mandatory fields have been completed with valid information.

Mandatory fields can vary depending upon your CommTrak configuration, but common examples include:

• Company Name (Customer)
• Order Number (Job)
• Date Added (Lead)
• Quote Name (Quote)

Mandatory fields are designated with a red asterisk adjacent to the field label. In the following image, a red asterisk is shown adjacent to the Date Added field label in a Lead, indicating that it is a mandatory field:

If adding / saving a record is attempted when mandatory fields are incomplete or invalid, the relevant field(s) will be highlighted with a red border. In the following example, an attempt has been made to add / save a Job without completing the Order No field:

In addition to highlighting the border of incomplete / invalid mandatory fields, a warning banner is pinned at the top of the screen:

The warning is displayed until all invalid field(s) are populated with valid information (and the record has been added / saved), or until the banner is dismissed.
