Workflow Branches (Settings)

For an overview of Workflows and related terminology, please see the Support Centre article, Workflow Introduction.

This setting is used to configure Workflow Branches that will be utilised in Workflow Groups:

A Workflow Branch can be allocated to multiple Workflow Groups (as can be seen highlighted in the above image). It is therefore important to be a aware of which Workflow Groups may be affected by changes made to a Workflow Branch. Prior to modifying an existing Workflow Branch, please review the below section, Effects of Modifying a Workflow Branch.

Accessing Workflow Branches Settings

Settings > Workflow Settings > Workflow Branches

Add a Workflow Branch

  • Under the Add new workflow branch section heading, enter a name for the new Workflow Branch in the Branch Description field
  • In the When reached, create Workflow field, select one or more Workflow Groups to include in the Branch
  • Click

Both the Branch Description field and the When reached, create Workflow field are mandatory (as indicated by the red * (asterisk) symbol), and must be completed prior to adding the new Workflow Branch.

Modify a Workflow Branch

Prior to modifying a Workflow Branch, the Member of Workflow Groups field should be reviewed to ensure that Workflow Groups are not unexpectedly modified.

  • Select a Workflow Branch from the list displayed at the top of the settings screen
  • Edit the Branch Description field, as required. This is the name of the Branch, as displayed on the Workflow Case screen (underlined in the below example):

  • Select or deselect the Workflow Groups as required
  • Click

Effects of Modifying a Workflow Branch

Modifying a Workflow Branch does affect active Workflows that contain the Branch, when that Branch has not yet been started.

Delete a Workflow Branch

  • Select a Workflow Branch from the list displayed at the top of the settings screen
  • Click the  button that is displayed below the Modify a workflow branch section heading.

Deleting a Workflow Branch cannot be reversed.

Deleted Workflow Branches are not removed from Active Workflow Cases. Deletion of a Workflow Branch only affects Workflow Cases that are instigated after the deletion has occurred.
